Award Winning Artist to Speak
at "The Art of Healing" Celebration
In keeping with the "The Art of Healing" theme, Mark Gilbert, an
award winning Scottish-born portrait artist will speak during the
program at the Samaritan Counseling Center's 20th anniversary
celebration on Friday May 16 at the Lincoln Station Great Hall.
Gilbert is internationally known for his portraits before and after
surgery for severe facial deformities. Currently a courtesy assistant
professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha,
Gilbert continues his patient portraiture and has taught UNMC medical
students to improve their observational skills through drawing. Gilbert's
work has been featured on the CBS Evening News.
